This is where the dead go
Where the answers flow like endless streams
throughout a land of make believe
it's underneath, this place of dreams
It waits above us as we sleep
and all around us, always present
waiting like a clever thief
It draws us in behind the curtain
Always certain we will follow
How can one resist such endless wonders
We seek a truth beyond our limits
and anyone that will oblige
will be our master
we will serve
Deeper than a sea of words
onward towards a fate of intrigue
growing with each passing dream

When I was alive
When I was alive
I never tried
I opened up the fear inside
When I was alive
I closed my eyes
letting inspiration pass me by
When I was alive
I fought against the right
Instead I chose a better time
When I was alive
I stayed inside
to live within the blackest night
.....and then I died
I never tried
I opened up the fear inside
When I was alive
I closed my eyes
letting inspiration pass me by
When I was alive
I fought against the right
Instead I chose a better time
When I was alive
I stayed inside
to live within the blackest night
.....and then I died

Left on broadway
I took you in
I bought you things
I taught you ways to live your life without destroying everything
I cooked you food
and took you places
where you would smile and take a while with every taste that I would offer
What could have happened?
what did I miss?
Did I forget to put the seat down?
Feed the fish?
What could have been so bad to bring us here to this?
An empty home
You left so cold
Without even the smallest gesture of a simple note
No sign that you had ever even been here
how can this be happening to me?
I bought you things

Rapped in frustration
I recognize my face on the billboard
next to two giant words saying "Smile more"
I said no
They threw me to the ground
and made me wear a dunce cap
as I laid there and cried for my mom
I said
"This is supposed to make me smile?"
"How stupid can you be?"
"How many paint chips
you gotta eat?"
I may be the dunce
but you just took the cake
in the densest man contest
First place

The Cycle
I ride on this highway singing a bad love song in my head. It's empty, so I decide to fill it with everything. All at once. The sorrow of my dreams and everything I had and lost. It fills me up until I reach the bottom, then it's gone.
Back to work again with an empty head, waiting for the bliss of it to end. Ignorance is all that gets me through until I start to think too much again. The thoughts of all my demons working hard to drag me down. Then once again, they're gone.

Dream of a Lonely Doctor
There was a dream once had
And in that dream a man would speak
and everyone would smile
And it would last a while
He'd cure the sick
and extra quick
the end of death would come
All would run to see the one
with magic in his lungs
And this intense demand
had left him stranded
lost, alone, and apathetic
Finally, a world of people had pushed him away
with his talent, the only quality they could
appreciate
And in that dream a man would speak
and everyone would smile
And it would last a while
He'd cure the sick
and extra quick
the end of death would come
All would run to see the one
with magic in his lungs
And this intense demand
had left him stranded
lost, alone, and apathetic
Finally, a world of people had pushed him away
with his talent, the only quality they could
appreciate

DOORS
One door holds a baby
One door mourns it’s loss of youth
One door is a lady
One door lacks the class to choose
One door wears a smile
One door holds a bag of truth
One door takes a while
One door opens fast for you
One door gives you money
One door shows you gratitude
One door thinks it’s funny
One door hates the sight of you
One door leaves it open
One door pulls it’s curtains closed
One door thinks you’re jokin’
One door loves a steady pose
One door asks you favors
One door is impersonal
One door thinks it’s greater
One door keeps itself humble
One door needs your service
One door could go somewhere else
One door makes you nervous
But in the end, you’re just a door yourself
One door mourns it’s loss of youth
One door is a lady
One door lacks the class to choose
One door wears a smile
One door holds a bag of truth
One door takes a while
One door opens fast for you
One door gives you money
One door shows you gratitude
One door thinks it’s funny
One door hates the sight of you
One door leaves it open
One door pulls it’s curtains closed
One door thinks you’re jokin’
One door loves a steady pose
One door asks you favors
One door is impersonal
One door thinks it’s greater
One door keeps itself humble
One door needs your service
One door could go somewhere else
One door makes you nervous
But in the end, you’re just a door yourself
